January 31, 2024 – Tom Hathaway, MPA has been promoted to President of Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 130 physicians providing services throughout Broward County. He was previously VP of Operations.

A member of the Holy Cross Health leadership team, Hathaway has brought a servant leadership approach and collaborative leadership style to improve Holy Cross Medical Group’s patient access, operational efficiency and healthcare delivery.

“Tom has been an invaluable member of Holy Cross Health and the Holy Cross Medical Group,” said Mark Doyle, President and CEO of Holy Cross Health, a member of Trinity Health. “He has always been results driven since beginning his career with us as executive director for our Department of Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.”

During the last two years as Vice President of Operations, Hathaway has:

  • improved year over year operating income by $25.2 million, contributing to a positive FY24 year-to-date operating income for the institution;
  • led patient access initiatives to grow the Patient Navigation Center and the office-based service lines to bring phone service to an industry best-in-class of a more than 90% handling rate in under 30 seconds of phone calls made;
  • drove standardized patient satisfaction practices that led to a 17% improvement rating year over year in the Medical Group across two survey groups;
  • developed a strategic growth plan for the Medical Group in service line development, leading the way for GI service line growth to result in year over year $5 million in margin growth in the endoscopy suite;
  • reorganized the campus optimization space planning for the Medical Group and independent practice present and future locations;
  • co-sponsored development of lab outreach within the Medical Group practices leading to additional $46 million in net revenue.
  • built a culture of excellence in the Medical Group to bring its operational scorecard performance from last to first among Trinity Health Medical Groups year over year.

Hathaway graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and earned a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in health finance from New York University Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Leaders of New York.
