The Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics and U18 Sports Medicine are expanding to Coral Springs to meet the growing demand for pediatric and adolescent orthopaedic care and sports medicine. The new location offers a host of orthopaedic, imaging and rehabilitative services, similar to the program at Memorial Hospital Miramar. In addition to providing both primary and complex tertiary pediatric orthopaedic and sports medicine care, the center will provide educational programs focusing on sports injury prevention and safety, catering to the more than 8,000 youth sports participants in Coral Springs.
The new 7,000-square-foot facility consists of examination rooms, low radiation dose digital X-rays, and a large physical therapy gymnasium that accommodates the varied needs of injured athletes. The services include diagnostic imaging by pediatric radiologists and technologists and rehabilitation by orthopaedic-certified physical therapists. The waiting room features large windows with full view of the physical therapy area, enabling parents to observe their children’s progress. One floor below U18 is the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH) MRI Center.
