The University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies (SONHS) has announced that Julie Barroso, PhD, ANP, APRN, BC, FAAN, has been appointed Professor and Associate Dean for Doctoral Programs. The nursing leader, HIV/AIDS researcher, and clinician will begin the appointment January 1, 2014.

 

Barroso comes to UM from Duke University’s School of Nursing, where she was Professor and Senior Research Fellow in the Duke Health Inequalities Program. She received her BSN from Florida State University, and her Master’s degree from the University of South Florida. Barroso earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.
