Jose Fox, president and CEO of United HomeCare (UHC), is this year’s recipient of the Bernice Martinez Citizenship Award, presented at the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) Hispanic Leadership Awards Luncheon.

 

The Bernice Martinez Citizenship Award is given to industry leaders who not only excel at what they do but also exemplify characteristics of a good citizen such as commitment, dedication, honesty, leadership and hard work.

 

Fox has led United HomeCare since 1989, shepherding its growth from a small non-profit agency to an industry pioneer that today cares for nearly 5,000 clients across Miami-Dade County. Throughout his career, Fox has fought to advance social services, health care, and in-home services, working relentlessly to improve policy in support of elderly and disabled people.

 

Immediate past-president for the Community Care for the Elderly Coalition, Fox currently serves as treasurer of the Home Care Association of Florida, a member of the Florida Council on Aging, and a member of the Florida Advocates for Community Care for Disabled Adults.
