Univita Health has appointed Dr. John J. McGoohan, as its Chief Medical Officer. Dr. McGoohan, who most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer and Market Vice President for CarePlus Health Plans, brings more than 25 years of senior executive healthcare leadership and managed care experience to Univita.Prior to joining CarePlus, Dr. McGoohan founded a privately owned MSO operation, Qualcare Medical, LLC, which was sold to Access Health Care in 2010. He also served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board at Summit Health Plans and as Senior Vice President at Vista Health Plans. He has held positions at Cigna Health Plans and UnitedHealthcare and provided consulting services to AvMed Health Plan.
