When building an effective employment brand, many employers have too narrow a focus. This isn’t to say your company culture, opportunities for growth and advancement, benefits and perks aren’t all very important to your potential candidates; I’m simply encouraging you to step outside the box for a moment. For example, incorporating quality of life through location can make the difference between attracting a high quality candidate and watching them choose a competitor. So, what benefits does the location of your office bring? What do your employees have easy access to? Your job postings should be showcasing where you are located; preferably with a map to drive this point home to candidates. Your healthcare facility may be downtown in the heart of the business world, on the outskirts next to some great shopping and restaurants, or simply close to the home or daycare of a desired candidate. While these seem like small details they could be incredibly important to your next great hire. You should also consider candidates who are interested in relocating to South Florida. While our sunshine and beaches seem to sell themselves, there is so much going on in our community that many people don’t know about. Take the time to consider your ideal candidate and what they may be looking for. Showcasing the non-traditional benefits your healthcare facility can offer is a great way to attract the right candidates for your organization.
