Susan Acocella, R.N., has been named general manager of VITAS Innovative Hospice Care® of Palm Beach County.

More than 18 years of patient care experience and marketing has led Acocella to assume key responsibility of one of the newest, and most promising, of VITAS’ 25 nationwide hospice programs. She began her VITAS career in 1997 as a senior representative at VITAS’ Broward County program, helping to establish rewarding relationships with physicians and other hospital personnel. In 2003, she was named director of admissions at VITAS’ Palm Beach County program. Prior to joining VITAS, Acocella served as a patient care representative for a home health care agency, and as a sales manager for a pharmaceutical company.

Acocella graduated summa cum laude when earning her bachelor of nursing degree from Barry University, Miami Shores, FL. She also earned bachelors degrees in biology and administration of justice, both magna cum laude, from Portland State University, Portland, OR.
