VITAS Innovative Hospice Care® of Miami has promoted Brian Payne to senior general manager of the Miami-Dade program.

As general manager in Miami-Dade since March of 2003, Payne has expanded the reach of VITAS by working with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Miami, eventually establishing a VITAS care team exclusively for VA patients. Also under Payne’s leadership, the Miami Dade program opened a VITAS inpatient hospice unit at Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Miami Heart Campus in 2004, and another, this month, at Parkway Regional Medical Center in North Miami Beach.

Payne has more than 13 years of experience in healthcare marketing, admissions and business development. He joined VITAS in 2002 as associate general manager and acting director of admissions in the Miami-Dade program.
