Wellington Regional Medical Center has teamed up with Humana’s HealthMiles Program from Virgin Group, to offer a wellness incentive program to its employees.

Humana, Wellington Regional Medical Center’s health benefits company, is offering HealthMiles as a fun and interactive way to create a healthier workforce by motivating employees to reach health and fitness goals. HealthMiles is a first-of-its-kind rewards program designed to motivate employees to take a more active role in their own health, while seeking to reduce long-term health care costs.

Director of Emergency Services at Wellington Regional, Joann Franklin, measures her blood pressure, weight and body fat percentage on the Health Zone kiosk. Measurement data is automatically uploaded to the LifeZone website.

Members earn reward Miles for exercising, tracking their health measurements and achieving their health and fitness goals. Miles can be redeemed for various products or services offered by national retailers. Members track their activity by using the GoZone pedometer – recording their steps, calories and distance – and then uploading the data to their personal member Web page.

In addition, a core component of HealthMiles, the Health Zone – an award winning health kiosk, is conveniently located in the hospital’s café, so employees can easily measure their health statistics at any time of the day. Employees earn reward points simply for taking their key body biometrics on the HealthZone – blood pressure, body fat and weight.
