West Boca Medical Center CEO Walt Mickens recently announced that community leaders Marlaine Smith and J.C. Perrin have joined the hospitals board of directors for a two-year term beginning this month.
Smith, RN, PhD, AHN-BC, FAAN, is associate dean for academic programs and the Helen K. Persson Eminent Scholar in Community Caring at Florida Atlantic University. Smith previously served as associate dean and masters program director at the University of Colorado and held faculty positions at Duquesne University, Penn State University and LaRoche College. She graduated from Duquesne University, University of Pittsburgh and New York University with a BSN, masters degrees in public health and nursing education and a PhD in nursing.
Perrin is a senior vice president and market executive for 1st United Bank. Previously, Perrin was senior vice president and manager, private banking, for SunTrust in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River Counties.
