George Blanton, D.O.

Around West Boca Medical Center (WBMC), Dr. Blanton is known to fellow physicians, nurses, staff members and his patients to be a caring and compassionate doctor. Recently, he was even honored by the Palm Beach Fire Rescue Battalion 5 with a plaque thanking him for 20 years of service to firefighters and paramedics in the community. The plaque, an ax with a golden head mounted on wood, is typically only awarded to retiring firefighters. However, the paramedics of Battalion 5 thought Dr. Blanton more than qualified for this kind of an honor.

With the hospital since it’s opening in 1986, Dr. Blanton comes to work at WBMC every day with a sincere and intense conviction to help people. He’s known for his calm and confident approach to treating patients that arrive in the Emergency Department, but he says he also enjoys the adrenaline rush of the job. Routine isn’t something Dr. Blanton thrives on.

Dr. Blanton has also been known as an educator for both the paramedics and WBMC staff because of his willingness to answer questions and provide insight on new procedures, which has also gained him greater respect among the first-responder community. He always tries to remind patients that the firefighters and paramedics are the true heroes in many situations.
