Westside Regional Medical Center (WRMC) has recently acquired a new, state-of-the-art da Vinci® Robot Surgery System. Designed to extend the benefits of minimally invasive surgery to the broadest possible base of patients, the robot can provide surgeons with all the clinical and technical capabilities of traditional open surgery while enabling them to operate through tiny incisions.

The da Vinci® Robot system allows surgeons three-dimensional visualization, enhanced dexterity and better precision and control. The system also allows a surgeon’s hand movements to be scaled, filtered and translated into precise movements of micro-instruments within the operative site.
