The 12th Annual Jeb Bush Florida Classic which began with a one-day golf tournament – has grown to a three-day extravaganza featuring golf, tennis, and fishing tournaments, a gala and a new beach bash. This years event is set for December 12-14, 2007 in Fort Lauderdale and will benefit the research and care programs of the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush will once again serve as honorary chairman of the event, which has raised more than $3.3 million for the CF Foundation since its inception. He first became involved in the event 11 years ago while a Miami developer. Since then, the event has been held in various cities around the state and has grown with the development of a statewide committee. The 2007 Jeb Bush Florida Classic will kick-off with the traditional Captains Meeting/Angler Welcome Party on Wednesday, December 12 at the Lauderdale Yacht Club, followed by a billfish tournament and beach bash on Thursday, December 13. The beach bash, new to the event this year, will feature an evening of live music and food under a tent on Fort Lauderdale Beach. On Friday, December 14, the golf and tennis tournaments will be held at Coral Ridge Country Club. The tennis event features a clinic and pro-am tournament. An awards luncheon will follow play. The highlight of the event will be the gala Friday night at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, Sponsorship packages are available for each event associated with the Jeb Bush Florida Classic.
