As thousands are desperate to get tested for covid-19, The Jewish Community Synagogue partnered with the Palm Beach County to give out hundreds of at-home test kits
North Palm Beach, FL – As people are frantic to get tested for Covid-19, on Tuesday, January 4th, the Jewish Community Synagogue will held a large pickup event giving out thousands of Covid-19 at-home test kits.
With an immeasurable number of people looking to protect others from getting sick and only a short supply of test kits, Rabbi Leib Ezagui of the Jewish Community Synagogue recognized the need to care for the community. He, therefore, reached out to Governor Ron Desantis to make it happen. The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County (DOH-Palm Beach) gave the Jewish Community Synagogue a limited number of kits for a specific special event they were holding. Palm Beach County that is handling regional distribution with limited supply being provide by the State FDOH.
“Our phone was ringing off the hook. People were so desperate to get tested, and when we were able to make it happen, they were so grateful! We filled up all of the spots very quickly and had quite the waitlist. We hope to do it again later this week.” Rabbi Leib shared.
In order to make it smooth and efficient, people were given appointment times to pick up their kits throughout the day.
Rabbi Shlomo Ezagui told us, “People were literally leaving with tears in their eyes. They were so grateful that they could now test themselves and go back to work, test themselves and visit their grandchildren.”
