JFK is also home to The Advanced Heart Care Center, specializing in the latest advances in heart failure management, including LVAD (Left Ventricular Assisted Device) implant surgery. Patients suffering from advanced heart failure who have exhausted medical therapies may be a candidate to receive an LVAD. JFK is the only hospital in Palm Beach County offering this treatment option for advanced heart failure. Studies have shown that patients treated with an LVAD can live longer and enjoy an improved quality of life compared to medication management alone.
