May 13, 2026 — Lee Health proudly announces the start of construction on its new Pediatric Surgery Center and Family Medicine Clinic, expected to open in early 2028.
The facility will provide specialized, high-quality care to patients and families throughout Southwest Florida. Spanning 60,000 square feet across two stories, it will be located adjacent to the Golisano Children’s Hospital and HealthPark Medical Center campus.
The first floor will include four pediatric surgery operating rooms and two endoscopy suites. The second story will include space for a Family Medicine Residency clinic to support the training of future Lee Health physicians, as well as a dedicated area for pediatric-focused care and family medicine services.
“Once the Pediatric Surgery Center and Family Medicine Clinic opens, it will enhance and broaden pediatric care for residents and visitors throughout Southwest Florida while supporting the training of future physicians through the Graduate Medical Education Program clinic,” said Kris Fay, Chief Administrative Officer of Lee Physician Group and Ambulatory Care. “Patients and families will be able to access top-tier pediatric and family care close to home. By combining advanced pediatric care with physician training in a familiar, community-based setting, the facility fosters a collaborative care environment where patients feel supported and families and caregivers can remain closely involved throughout the care journey. To bring this vision to life, Lee Health partnered with Landmark Healthcare Facilities, LLC, a national developer specializing in outpatient healthcare settings. Stevens Construction will serve as the project’s construction partner, bringing extensive healthcare construction experience to the team. The design partners also include Kahler Slater and Johnson Engineering.
