August 31, 2026 – HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, a 424-bed facility and part of HCA Florida Healthcare, is pleased to announce the addition of vascular surgeon Michael G. Hurst, MD. Dr. Hurst will expand access to specialized vascular care, bringing expertise in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of a wide range of vascular conditions.
Dr. Hurst specializes in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease, carotid stenosis, aortic aneurysms and dissections, acute limb ischemia, venous disease and other complex vascular conditions. His expertise includes open and endovascular procedures such as angioplasty and stenting, carotid endarterectomy, limb salvage procedures, aortic aneurysm repair, transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR), vascular reconstruction and venous thrombectomy.

Dr. Hurst earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed his general surgery training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Chattanooga. He subsequently completed a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Hurst has also contributed to vascular surgery research involving carotid artery disease, vascular imaging and complex endovascular aortic repair.
