September 2, 2026 – Fellowship-trained neuro-oncologist Nishika Karbhari, M.D., has joined Baptist Health Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute. She specializes in the treatment of primary and metastatic brain and spinal cord tumors, with clinical interests in personalized treatment planning, novel therapeutics and clinical research aimed at advancing care for patients with neurologic cancers. Her research interests include gliomas, brain tumor biology, immunotherapy, genomics and emerging treatment approaches in neuro-oncology.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Karbhari completed a neuro-oncology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She previously completed an internal medicine internship and neurology residency at Dartmouth Health in Lebanon, New Hampshire, serving as academic chief resident during her final year.

Dr. Karbhari earned her medical degree with Distinction in Research from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in adult neurology and by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties in neuro-oncology.
Dr. Karbhari has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented her research at national scientific meetings. Throughout her training, she received multiple awards recognizing excellence in research and clinical performance, including Dartmouth Health’s Top Resident Award and Murray B. Bornstein Research Award.
Dr. Karbhari believes in a collaborative approach to care, partnering closely with patients, their families and a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans.
