Health Care District of Palm Beach County Board Chair to Step Down After Four Years of Accomplished Leadership

Benjamin Frank, Esq., Chair of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County Board of Commissioners, announced he is stepping down from the Board after completing an accomplished four-year term of volunteer service. During Frank’s tenure, the public health care system marked its 15th year of operating a model School Health program and its 20th year of overseeing the county’s nationally recognized and life-saving Trauma System. Frank’s term was also highlighted by the District receiving a federal grant to provide primary care at four Palm Beach County Health Department public health clinics. Frank’s steady leadership, as well as his commitment to government transparency and fiscal responsibility, helped guide the agency during the economic recession, transition in management, and national health care reform.

 

In October of 2011, the Health Care District Board elected Frank as its Chair. He is a former executive and attorney with more than 40 years of experience in business, health care and government. After earning his law degree from New York University’s School of Law, Frank joined New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller’s administration. He played a key role in the development of the World Trade Center project and the Harlem State Office Project in New York City, and he served as Deputy Commissioner for New York State’s Office of General Services. Frank also served as an advisor to President Reagan on international trade negotiations. Frank was Senior Vice President for Allied Stores Corporation, Executive Vice President/General Counsel for the Hament Corporation, and founder and Chairman of Ben & Jerry’s Canada. Frank served as Vice President and Board member of the North Shore University Health System, a large hospital system on Long Island, NY.
