About 50 Miami Dade College (MDC) nursing students and faculty performed hundreds of free medical screenings at the Miami Rescue Mission’s annual Christmas in July celebration held at the organization’s outreach center. In addition to the screenings and treatment, MDC students and faculty donated over 250 purple “Hope Totes” filled with toiletries, socks, shoes and other basic supplies, which were distributed at the event, held annually to remind homeless members of the community and others in need that they are not forgotten.
