Neurointerventional Surgeon Brijesh P. Mehta, M.D., has joined the Memorial Neuroscience Institute at Memorial Healthcare System as Medical Director of Stroke and Neurocritical Care. Also, he is employed with the Memorial Physician Group.
Dr. Mehta attended Emory University for his undergraduate degree and received a bachelor of science in biology, graduating magna cum laude. Dr. Mehta earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005 and was awarded the AOA fellowship to conduct neuroscience research.
He then completed eight years of specialty training at the following Harvard Medical School programs in Boston: internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (2007); neurology residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (2010); stroke and neurocritical care fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham & Women’s Hospital (2012); endovascular neurosurgery and minimally invasive spine surgery fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary (2014).
Ivan Stoev, M.D., who is a board-eligible neurosurgeon specializing in spine disorders, has also joined the Memorial Neuroscience Institute and Memorial Physician Group. Dr. Stoev earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 2006, and completed his internship and residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his neurosurgery spine fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2014.
