Michel Velez, M.D. has recently joined the Memorial Cancer Institute as a hematologist oncologist and the Memorial Physician Group.
Dr. Velez is board-certified doctor of internal medicine with a specialty in hematology/oncology. Dr. Velez earned his medical degree from the Universidad del Norte, Colombia in 2000, after which he became involved in breast cancer research as a research associate at the Cancer Research Network and, subsequently, at Memorial Cancer Institute. He then went on to complete his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Miami/Miller School of Medicine at JFK Medical Center and Veterans Affairs Medical Center Regional Campus, West Palm Beach. He completed his hematology-oncology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami/Miller School of Medicine in 2014, where he served as chief fellow.
