Miami Jewish Health Systems at Douglas Gardens Announces Bold Vision for the Future Among Supporters and Friends at 75th Anniversary Gala

Miami Jewish Health Systems recently celebrated its Diamond Jubilee Gala, the largest single fund raising event to date for the organization. Held at the Douglas Gardens campus and chaired by Ellen and Louis Wolfson III, it was a night filled with excitement and laughter as comedian Hank Azaria presided as Master of Ceremonies. At the event, Miami Jewish looked back on its 75-year history and announced exciting plans for the future.

 

The biggest news of the night came from President and CEO of Miami Jewish Health Systems Jeffrey P. Freimark and Vice President of Behavioral Health and Clinical Research Dr. Marc Agronin. They announced plans for a state-of-the-art facility, unlike anything else in the U.S., set to enhance how care is provided to seniors – particularly for those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

 

Inspired by the best models for memory disease care, and in partnership with the innovative architectural team of C.C. Hodgson, Miami Jewish Health Systems showcased a multi-phased, master plan that will transform its 28-acre Douglas Gardens campus into a world-class facility.

 

Azaria was named as Honorary Chairman of this project, which will be called the Miami Jewish Empathicare Village.

 

City of Miami Commissioner, Mr. Marc Sarnoff, on behalf of Mayor Tomas Regalado, also presented the organization with a City of Miami proclamation, acknowledging February 28 as Miami Jewish Health Systems Day.
