Jose Velez, MBA, has been appointed director of market development at VITAS Healthcare in Broward. Jose brings 22 years of business development, sales and strategic planning experience to his role.Prior to joining VITAS, Jose served as physician relations manager and then as associate administrator and director of business development for Tenet Healthcare’s Coral Gables Hospital in Miami. Before that, he worked for Humana for eight years, where he held several positions including Medicaid sales and marketing manager for Broward, Palm Beach and Belle Glades. Earlier in his career, he served as director of operations for Miami Dade Health and Rehabilitation Services where he assisted in developing strategic programs and sales efforts to increase annual sales.
Jose earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University in Miami and a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Fort Lauderdale.
