Lance Simkins, M.D., FACC, has been certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) as a specialist in obesity medicine. Dr. Simkins with prior board certifications in internal medicine, cardiology, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology has now completed a rigorous training curriculum and examination process to achieve this notable designation.
 
Dr. Simkins has been an interventional cardiologist in South Florida since 1991 and joined Tenet Florida Physician Services (TFPS) in 2012. His office is located in Tamarac and he is on staff at The Heart Institute of Florida at Florida Medical Center, a campus of North Shore in Fort Lauderdale where he is the current chief wellness officer. Prior to joining TFPS, he worked as a cardiologist in two separate private practices and as director of a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in Tamarac. His teaching experience also includes as a preceptor of senior medical student externships in cardiology with the Department of Internal Medicine, North Broward Hospital District, University of Florida College of Medicine and Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine.
