Cindy Lang, MPH, RN, BSN, CIC, joined the Department of Veterans Affairs over 38 years ago after graduating from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She worked at the Syracuse, NY VA Medical Center for 18 years as a staff RN, critical care charge nurse, nursing supervisor, nurse recruiter, nurse epidemiologist and nurse manager. Lang worked for a year at the Phoenix VA on an Agent Orange Unit administering chemotherapy. She transferred to the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center in 1994 during pre-activation as the nurse manager of surgery. She later served as the nurse manager of acute care before becoming an Infection Control Specialist. Lang became the Senior Infection Preventionist and then Nurse Manager of Infection Prevention and Reusable Medical Equipment. This promotion will place Lang second in command for nursing.Cynthia J.
