Dr. Avram Smukler has joined the Palm Beach Cancer Institute (PBCI) in West Palm Beach, Fla. He is board certified in internal medicine and an associate member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Previously, Dr. Smukler worked as an Emergency Medicine Doctor at the DePaul Health Center in St. Louis, MO and a Medical Officer in Traumatology at Johannesburg Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa. He completed his fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Mo. Dr. Smukler fulfilled his residency in internal medicine at St. Marys Health Center in St Louis, Mo. and his internship in surgery and internal medicine at Johannesburg Hospital. He received his medical and undergraduate degrees from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr. Smukler has contributed to a number of oncology publications including the Current Opinion in Oncology and Contemporary Oncology and he has presented comprehensive research at several medical conferences.
