Dr. Greg Hartley, Assistant Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy, has been sworn in as President of the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy (AGPT), a component of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Dr. Hartley was Volunteer Faculty at UM from 2002-2015, and has been a full-time faculty member in UM’s PT Program since 2015. He is a board-certified geriatric clinical specialist and a certified exercise expert for aging adults™. Dr. Hartley is the founder of the first accredited geriatric physical therapy residency in the U.S., which is housed locally at St. Catherine’s Rehabilitation Hospital and is affiliated with the University of Miami’s Department of Physical Therapy. He previously served the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy as Director and Secretary on the Board of Directors, and as Chair of its Practice Committee where he oversaw creation of a variety of evidence-based documents and clinical practice guidelines.
