For the second year in a row, seniors in Barry University’s Podiatric Medicine program have achieved a 100 percent passing rate on both the written and clinical APMLE Part II exams. The national average is 90 percent. In all, 43 Barry seniors took the exam.
“In short, this unparalleled success is a combination of great students, great staff and great faculty,” said Dr. Albert Armstrong, dean of Barry’s School of Podiatric Medicine. “It all starts with our admissions team. When we admit high quality students, which we have, and prepare them well, which we do, we can expect great outcomes.” Armstrong also attributed the results to board preparation courses and the ability for seniors to take time off to study.
The School of Podiatric Medicine continues to see success within its program and for its students. Last year, 100 percent of the graduating class received a residency placement; the 2017 national average for placements was 92.66 percent. The school was the only institution among the nine U.S. schools of podiatric medicine to achieve a 100 percent placement for its graduating class.
