Catholic Hospice has named Jorge I. Ramirez, M.D. as the Vice-President and Medical Director of the organization.

Previously, Dr. Ramirez served VA Montana Healthcare System as Chief of Palliative Care and Pain Management. A physician since 1980, Dr. Ramirez received his medical degree from the University Of Puerto Rico School Of Medicine and then completed a Family Practice Residency Program with the University Of Miami School Of Medicine. Dr. Ramirez is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Ramirez also holds a three year appointment on the Board of The American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

During the last 20 years Ramirez has been a dedicated teacher and student of hospice and palliative care at the local, state and national level. Ramirez played a key role in the development of hospice and palliative care in the State of Montana. He has upheld a distinguished career in the end-of-life practice, implementation and education. The South Florida Community will benefit from his extensive training and background.
