Paul Simeone, Ph.D. has joined Lee Health as Vice President of Mental and Behavioral Health. In his new role, Simeone will lead Lee Health’s behavioral and mental health initiatives while working with community partners to improve behavioral health care in Southwest Florida.
Simeone has more than 30 years’ experience in mental and behavioral health as an educator, administrator and practicing clinical psychologist.

He brings extensive mental and behavioral health experience with highly-regarded organizations around the country,” said John Chomeau, Lee Health’s Chief Population Health Officer. “Paul’s unique combination of leadership, teaching, operations and clinical practice will help Lee Health drive improvements to behavioral and mental health care in Southwest Florida.” 
Simeone most recently served as the Program Coordinator for the Cultural/Linguistic & Fee-For-Service Teams in Adult Outpatient Psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) in Somerville, Mass. CHA is a public, three-hospital health system serving Boston’s northern suburbs. Its services include primary care, specialty care, mental health and substance use care and it has teaching affiliations with Harvard Medical School and Tufts Medical School.
Simeone has also held several faculty positions at universities in the Boston area and most recently served as a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School.
His clinical experience is extensive and varied, organized around an integrative approach that combines psychodynamic, narrative and traumaâfocused treatments and he has seen a wide spectrum of patients typical of large outpatient practices. His areas of specialty include treating major mental illness, trauma, personality disorders, substance abuse/compulsive disorders and relational problems.
Simeone has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and master’s degree in school psychology from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York and a master’s degree in psychology from Mount Holyoke College near Springfield, Mass.
