The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade recently hosted its Annual Awards and Recognition Luncheon at the Hilton Miami Airport. The Awards and Recognition Ceremony celebrated the invaluable work clinicians, case managers, colleagues, volunteers, board members and staff do to help Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade remain a leader in maternal, infant and child health in Miami-Dade County.

With NBC 6 Meteorologist Adam Berg as the Master of Ceremonies, Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade recognized dozens of individuals and organizations for their tireless commitment in ensuring every baby in our community has a Healthy Start in life.
 
“For the past 17 years, The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade has proudly served Miami-Dade County as a leader in maternal, infant and child health,” said Manuel Fermin, Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade Chief Executive Officer. “We are committed to our community which is growing in numbers and diversity. We enjoyed celebrating these accomplishments with our colleagues at our Annual Awards and Recognition Ceremony and look forward to continuing this work for years to come.”
 
The Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC) and Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade jointly recognized hospitals in Miami-Dade County that have committed to healthcare quality improvement for mothers and babies with the Champion of Quality Recognition.
 
Additional award categories included the Excellence in Maternal, Infant and Child Health for hospital partners and prenatal care providers, Champion of Change Evidence-Based Maternity Care Recognition for hospitals that have made progress toward designation as a Baby-Friendly® hospital. Individuals who have dedicated 5, 10 and 15 years to improving the lives of mothers, infants and children in Miami-Dade County were also recognized.
