The Memorial Cancer Institute has affiliated with the North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCTG). This partnership allows Memorial to provide cancer patients in the community access to numerous cancer therapies, clinical trials and studies previously unavailable. The NCCTG works with Mayo Clinic to bring the latest cancer research to the community.

A national clinical research group, the NCCTG is sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and specializes in researching ways to treat and prevent cancer, as well as methods to alleviate the side effects of cancer and cancer treatments. Its main focus is to bring cutting-edge cancer research and therapies to community-based institutions.

“This relationship will accentuate our cancer program and add to the world-class healthcare we already offer here, providing patients access to very promising cancer research in their own back yards,” said Dr. Atif Hussein, medical director for the Memorial Cancer Institute.
