Dorothy “Dottie” Mancini, Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Point Medical Center (IPMC), recently announced her retirement at the monthly meeting of the North Broward Hospital District (NBHD) Board of Commissioners. Mancini, who has been CEO of Imperial Point Medical Center since 1996, said her last day as CEO will be June 29.
Mancini began her career as a registered nurse in 1962. She has worked in hospitals in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida. She joined Imperial Point Medical Center in 1987 and became director of nursing the following year. In 1996, she was named CEO of IPMC. During her tenure, the hospital had enormous success, financially and as demonstrated by its consistently high customer satisfaction.
A Philadelphia native, Mancini graduated from Temple University School of Nursing and earned a bachelors of art degree from Glassboro College in New Jersey. She received her MBA from the University of Miami.
She has been active with the Florida Organization of Nurse Executives, American Association of Nurse Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Committed to the community, Dottie has served on the boards of the United Way and Community Blood Centers. She was an active member of the Pompano Rotary Club and the Ft. Lauderdale Executives Association.
