Nova Southeastern Universitys (NSU) Nursing Department announced it scored one of the highest marks in the latest national nursing board exams, which nursing students must pass in order to practice.
After graduating three classes, NSU has an average passing score for the year of 97.4%, which represented the second highest overall scores among 20 universities that took the mandatory National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses. For NSU, this achievement is another milestone for a young program that began five years ago with 45 students. It has now grown to 714 students. “This outstanding achievement is a reflection on the quality of our students and faculty,” said Diane Whitehead, R.N., B.S.N., Ed.D, who is NSUs Associate Dean of Nursing. “NSU students have gone on to make significant contributions to the health and well-being of communities throughout Florida and the rest of the country.”
