The Florida Department of Health (DOH) announces the appointment of Paula Thaqi, M.D., M.P.H. as Director of the Broward County Health Department (CHD).
Dr. Thaqi has served as Director of the Highlands County Health Department for the past seven years. She has led the health department in the Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) process and worked with community partners to meet local needs.
Previously, Dr. Thaqi has served in international public health with various non-governmental organizations and the United Nations World Health Organization in Kosovo. Prior to that, she was a pediatric emergency room attending physician in New York.
