Kenny Knopman Improves the Mobility of his Neighbors

Kenny Knopman, 85, has designed a unique solution for those who are immobile due to orthopedic injuries. The EEZ Walker allows for greater and safer mobility through three attachable accessories: rear swivel wheels, foot platform and a seat/tray.

His inspiration came when his wife, Paula fractured her knee. He knew there had to be a better way for her to move about than using crutches or a wheelchair. When she progressed to using a walker, he attached two 2″ swivel wheels with rear legs to the back of the walker. This allowed for easier movement, more control, less lifting and less pushing of the walker. He also attached a four wheel foot platform for her to rest her injured knee that allowed her to put none, little or full pressure on it.

During a vacation in Atlantic City, a man on crutches tried the EEZ Walker. After walking 20 paces, he turned to Knopman and exclaimed, “This is heaven!” Knopman has spent the last three years developing his walker and recently attained a patent after having made over 50 improvements. He has installed the accessories for over 40 of his neighbors in Century Village, Pembroke Pines. “When I see an old person struggling to move along, I feel sorry for them because I know there is a better way.”

Knopman has always been mechanically inclined. He studied engineering in college and operated his own office machine service center in Miami for over 40 years. A-1 Ideal Business Machines was the number one Brothers Service Center in the country. His business acumen will serve him well in his new venture.

Knopman offers free local installation. He is currently developing his business plan to sell his walker and accessories throughout the country. He offers a choice of a walker with swivel wheels attached for $89.50 or a two rear legs and wheels unit for $39.50. The four wheel platform, which supports up to 300 lbs., is available for $69.50.
