Pediatric Lung Disease Researcher Wins Micah Batchelor Award

Shu Wu, M.D., a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, was awarded the 2008 Micah Batchelor Award for Excellence in Children’s Health Research.

Wu is investigating the cause of a chronic lung disease that affects premature infants, bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). Her award, which was made possible by the Miami-based Batchelor Foundation, was accompanied by $300,000 in funding.
