Karen Mulvaney, RN, MBA, CCRN, CEN, CFRN, EMPT, Broward General Medical Center Trauma Center, was selected as the Broward County Nurse of the Year for Florida Nurses Association District 21.
Mulvaneys nursing background is extensive. In addition to her position as a trauma nurse at Broward General Medical Center, Mulvaney works on-call as a small aircraft transport nurse and teaches classes in Critical Care and Emergency Nursing at Broward Community College. She is also an active community volunteer.
Since 2003, Mulvaney has been a member of the South Florida Disaster Medical Assistance Team and the Southeast Region International Medical Surgical Response Team.
Mulvaney is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Emergency Nurses Association and the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association.
