Victoria L. Johnston, CPA, was recently appointed chief financial officer of Hospice by the Sea, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit hospice organization which has served nearly 70,000 families in Palm Beach and Broward counties during the past 31 years.
In appointing Johnston, President and CEO Paula J. Alderson stated, “She is acknowledged by her peers as a successful, results-oriented executive with a proven track record in financial management, internal controls, continuous quality improvement, and team building. I am confident that Victoria will be a great asset to our Leadership Team.”
Johnston has an extensive healthcare background. Most recently, she held the CFO position of Integrated Regional Laboratories, a division of HCA, (the largest private operator of healthcare facilities in the world), where she was a member of the executive management team serving hospitals throughout Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia and the Caribbean. Prior leadership positions include western regional controller for Quest Diagnostics, Inc., and manager for financial accounting and business process improvement at Johnson & Johnson.
Johnston joined Hospice by the Sea, Inc. because she “was impressed with the people in the organization and their commitment to the mission, and with the organizations outstanding reputation in the community.”
Johnston is a Six Sigma Greenbelt, one of the highest standards for companies and individuals to achieve. This training encompasses all aspects of running a business; including management, service delivery, design, production, and customer satisfaction. She has completed training and earned certifications in strategic planning, organizational excellence, and Sarbanes Oxley, plus completed financial and leadership courses beyond her MBA and CPA.
Johnstons appointment will help insure the continued rapid growth of Hospice by the Sea, Inc., which has nearly doubled its daily census in the past three years and today is serving more than 500 families in Palm Beach and Broward counties.
