Northwest Medical Center has appointed Randy Burks, M.D., FACS., Chief of Surgery at HCA Northwest Medical Center, as the new Chairman for their Board of Trustees. He has been practicing at the Ophthalmology Consultants The Center for LASIK in Margate since 1989.

Dr. Burks graduated from the United States Air Force Academy and received his Medical Degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his Internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Ophthalmology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He served on active duty with the Air Force as an F-16 Flight Surgeon, an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, and the Director of the Air Force’s Eye Surgery residency program. He continued his military service in the Air Force Reserve as a Flight Surgeon at Homestead Air Force Reserve Base after moving to South Florida.
