For nearly 35 years Violeta McCormack, M.D., has been providing care and treatment for heart-related issues in South Florida. She serves as the medical director of interventional cardiology and associate program director of the cardiology fellowship program at Broward Health Medical Center.
Dr. McCormack became fascinated with cardiovascular disease in medical school.
“I became an interventional cardiologist to help patients with cardiovascular problems, save lives and promote heart-healthy lifestyles,” Dr. McCormack said.
Dr. McCormack is the only female interventional cardiologist at Broward Health’s flagship hospital, paving the way for other women to follow in her footsteps.
“I am very passionate about helping my patients achieve positive outcomes and live longer lives,” Dr. McCormack said.
Dr. McCormack earned her medical degree from the University of Edward Kardali School of Medicine in Liubijana, Yugoslavia. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV and a cardiology fellowship from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
