Virginia D’Onofrio, RN, has been with Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital since 2011. She has a deep sense of compassion for patients, and she goes out of her way to put patients first. Virginia strives to enrich her knowledge in all things nursing and inspires everyone around her to do the same. She is well respected by her peers and selflessly volunteers to teach and motivate others for success. As a result, she was awarded the Nurse Support Award in 2012. As an innovator, Virginia initiates new ways to improve processes and outcomes. She established a monthly Diabetes Support Clinic and was Chair of Epic Superusers from 2017-2022. She co-chaired the Niche Committee from 2015-2022 and she was a member of the Professional Development Committee, the Research Committee, the Nursing Informatics Committee, and the Better Breathers Patient Support Group. Virginia was a key player in 2020- 2021 during COVID when she was a Team Lead at the triage center, and she assisted in developing protocols for the testing tent. She is board certified in Gerontology and Ambulatory Nursing and she is currently working toward a master’s degree in informatics.
