As MWC Director, Dr. Ortega’s clinical practice specializes in Gerontology, Psychiatry and Mental Health caring for aging adults through the diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions, as well as providing integrated mental health care for persons with mental health, co-morbid mental and physical conditions, and those experiencing Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD). Dr. Ortega was recognized by FAU Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing for her research projects focusing on Caring-Based Dementia-Specific Services and Supports and Alzheimer’s Disease.
