Dr. Pamela Millan is a pediatric nephrologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, caring for babies, children and teenagers with a variety of kidney and urinary tract issues. Many of her patients have chronic diseases that significantly impact their quality of life.
“Working with dialysis patients and seeing their difficulties firsthand is what inspires me most,” said Dr. Millan, who completed fellowship training in pediatric nephrology in 2023. “Their resilience motivates me to take a central role in their care.”
Dr. Millan is involved in multidisciplinary clinics for Spina Bifida and congenital heart disease and heart transplant, which allow the opportunity to have a preventative approach with patients who are at high risk for renal disease. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Millan is participating in clinical research and medical education with medical students and residents.
