Dr. Nishant Patel is a cardiothoracic surgeon on staff at Palm Beach Gardens and Delray medical centers. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History of Science, Technology, and Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences degree from Johns Hopkins University, where he also obtained a Doctor of Medicine in 2009. Dr. Patel was also Chief Resident in the Department of Surgery in Divisions of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. After completing residency, he preceded his training in the Edwards Lifesciences TAVR Foundations for Fellows Course in Miami, FL.

Dr. Patel received several extramural funding awards for his research endeavors while completing his education and has teaching experience as a speaker in many lectures at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was awarded throughout his academic and medical career, recognizing achievements ranging from academic excellence to research contributions and critical care scholarships. Dr. Patel says the best part about his job is the privilege of taking care of people who are very sick, fixing them with his hands, and watching them recover, allowing them to get back to doing things they enjoy.
