Deerfield Beach resident Rose Marie Perdiletto first started volunteering at Broward Health North when she was only living in South Florida for part of the year. At the suggestion of a neighbor, she attended a volunteer orientation meeting.
“It sounded like a good way to spend your time and to meet people,” said Perdiletto.
She found she liked it, and 14 years later, she is still volunteering and enjoys helping the patients, visitors and staff.
She currently volunteers two days a week, serving as a patient escort for people who are being admitted for inpatient services and puts patient information folders together.
Originally from upstate New York, she became a permanent Florida resident in 2012. In addition to volunteering at the hospital, she enjoys going to bingo two days a week, where she serves as a caller most of the time.
