Amre Nouh, MD, who serves as Chair of Neurology for Cleveland Clinic in Florida, has been elected to serve as Chair of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Stroke and Vascular Neurology Section. Dr. Nouh begins his two-year term in April 2025.
In his role with AAN, the world’s largest association of neurologists and neuroscience professionals, Dr. Nouh will lead the online SynapseSM community on stroke and vascular neurology, fostering new and collaborative opportunities for its members.
Prior to Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Nouh held various leadership roles. He most recently served as Chair of the Northeast Cerebrovascular Consortium, System Director of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease at Hartford Healthcare, a seven acute care hospital system in Connecticut, as well as Stroke Director of Hartford Hospital and Vascular Neurology Fellowship Director. Dr. Nouh is a fellow of the American Heart Association, member of the National AHA Stroke Council, and lead author and Vice-Chair of the AHA Scientific Statement on Best Practice Recommendations for In-Hospital Stroke. He has authored and co-authored more than 100 publications and has presented globally on stroke and cerebrovascular disease.
