Romaine Layne serves as Chief Financial Officer at St. Mary’s Medical Center, bringing more than a decade of experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare finance. She plays a key role in leading the hospital’s financial strategy and supporting its mission to deliver high-quality care to the community. Before joining St. Mary’s, Layne held finance leadership roles within Tenet Healthcare, including Controller positions at North Shore Medical Center and Coral Gables Hospital. Her return to the organization reflects her strong track record of operational excellence and fiscal stewardship. Layne earned her M.S. in Accounting from Nova Southeastern University and holds a B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration from Florida International University. She has received industry recognition for her leadership, including being named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s “Women CFOs to Know” in 2023 and South Florida Business Journal’s “Non-Profit CFO of the Year” in 2022.
