Donation presented during the Miami Hurricanes Football “Pink Game” supports pediatric cancer research and patient care initiatives

September 29, 2026 — AutoNation celebrated the 10th anniversary of DRV PNK and more than $50 million raised and donated to drive out cancer with a $100,000 donation to Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami Health System. With this donation, Sylvester will establish the AutoNation Children’s Cancer Research Fund to support innovative pediatric cancer research and initiatives that improve outcomes for children and families facing a cancer diagnosis.
The donation is one of ten $100,000 grants AutoNation is making to longtime cancer partners nationwide in recognition of a decade of DRV PNK, AutoNation’s commitment to advancing cancer research and supporting patients, survivors, and caregivers.
During the Miami Hurricanes football team’s “Pink Game” on September 26, Jeff Butler, president of AutoNation Finance, and Marilité Vazquez-Gonzalez, senior marketing director at AutoNation presented the donation to Javier Sanchez, executive director of the Dolphins Cancer Challenge, and Dr. Stephen Nimer, director of Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
AutoNation’s partnership with Sylvester dates back more than two decades and includes support for the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) since its inaugural event. Over the past four years, AutoNation has provided $1 million in partnership support to the DCC, benefiting cancer research at Sylvester.
“As the parent of a childhood cancer survivor, I experienced firsthand the uncertainty, challenges, and hope that come with a pediatric cancer diagnosis. Knowing that this donation will help advance innovative pediatric cancer research makes this moment even more meaningful,” said Butler. “The newly established AutoNation Children’s Cancer Research Fund is a reminder of what can be accomplished when people come together to support a cause that affects so many families. It would not have been possible without the support of our Associates, customers, partners, and organizations like Sylvester, whose continued commitment is helping bring hope for children and families affected by cancer.”
